VirtualSpeech Review 2026
VirtualSpeech is still operating and still sold in October 2026, to organisations and, directly, to individuals. This review covers what each plan costs and includes, what it does well, where it falls short, and who should choose something else. It is written by a competitor, EchoPitch, so where VirtualSpeech is the better buy we say so.
Is VirtualSpeech worth paying for?
VirtualSpeech is worth paying for as an individual only if you want to rehearse in front of a simulated audience, be questioned on what you said, and keep using it for months. The individual plan costs $45 a month or $399 a year, which works out at $33.25 a month, more than Orai ($12) or Speeko ($29.99) charge month to month. For that you get the full course library, roleplays with AI characters that push back, presentations to virtual rooms using your own slides, AI questions drawn from your talk, and written feedback against named criteria. It runs in a browser on a laptop or tablet, with VR headsets as an option. It is not worth paying for if you only want quick filler-word and pace metrics, if you want to try before paying (no individual free trial is published), or if you need help with a single event. The product is built and priced mainly for organisations, which buy it on custom quotes.

Prices checked 11 October 2026 on virtualspeech.com/pricing. Individuals can pay monthly or annually, so the price does not require annual billing; the annual plan is cheaper per month. Enterprise and education prices are not published. Prices are shown in dollars; local-currency pricing is not published. What VirtualSpeech does well
- Rehearsal that feels like the real thing. You upload your own slides, pick one of 15+ rooms from a small office to a conference stage, and present to an audience that reacts.
- It rehearses the Q&A. After a talk, the AI asks questions drawn from what you actually said, including the claim you made loosely or the figure you skipped.
- Feedback on content as well as delivery. Each session is scored against five named criteria with a written explanation, alongside pace, filler words and hesitations, and listenability.
- Roleplays with AI characters that respond and push back, for difficult conversations, feedback, sales, customer service and interviews, plus short Skills Coaching sessions (5 to 12 minutes) with an AI coach that end in a written plan.
- Optional VR on Meta Quest, Pico and Vive headsets, which adds body language and eye-contact scoring and multiplayer sessions for up to six learners.
- Serious organisational credentials: SSO via SAML 2.0, LMS integration, data stored in a US or European region, ISO 27001-aligned and GDPR-compliant, and practice in 20+ languages.
Where it falls short
- Expensive for individuals. $45 a month is about four times Orai's monthly price, and even the annual plan works out at $33.25 a month.
- No individual free trial is published. Organisations get a 1 to 2 week pilot; individuals buy monthly or annually.
- Built for organisations first. Most of the site, the pricing page and the support model (dedicated success managers, rollouts, LMS) are aimed at L&D teams and universities rather than one person preparing for one event.
- In the browser there is no body language or eye-contact data, by VirtualSpeech's own comparison. That needs a VR headset.
- Whether the individual plan includes the VR app is not stated on the pricing page.
- Prices are shown in dollars only; local-currency pricing is not published.
Who should pay for VirtualSpeech
L&D teams and universities
This is who VirtualSpeech is built for. Custom roleplays around your own products and policies, skills analytics by team or cohort, SSO and LMS integration, and a pilot before you commit. Few rivals cover all of that in one product.
Anyone whose fear is the Q&A
The AI questions after a talk are drawn from what you actually said. If the part you dread is the first hand going up, this is closer to the real thing than any filler-word counter.
Organisations that already own VR headsets
VirtualSpeech runs on Meta Quest, Pico and Vive, with device management for a fleet, shared-headset accounts and multiplayer sessions. It gives an existing headset estate repeatable, scored content.
Individuals preparing over several months
If you will rehearse regularly for a year, the $399 annual plan gets you the full course library, roleplays and virtual audiences for $33.25 a month.
Who should choose something else
You want to try before you pay
No free trial is published for individuals. Microsoft Speaker Coach is free in PowerPoint, Speeko has a free version, and EchoPitch's Pitch Scorer scores 60 seconds free with no signup.
You only need delivery metrics
If the goal is fewer fillers and steadier pace, Orai at $49.99 a year or Speeko at $8.33 a month billed annually does that for a fraction of the price.
You have one event and a small budget
At $45 a month, VirtualSpeech is a lot to pay for one presentation, pitch or interview. A fixed-price session pack or a month of a cheaper tool is the simpler route.
You want body language feedback without a headset
VirtualSpeech's own comparison says the browser version has no body language or eye-contact data. EchoPitch measures facial expression signals in the browser with an ordinary webcam.
VirtualSpeech alternatives
Which tool replaces VirtualSpeech depends on why you are looking. EchoPitch is listed first because this is our site, not because it suits every case.
EchoPitch (us)
Best when one specific presentation, pitch, interview or difficult conversation matters and you want feedback on how you came across on camera without a headset. Each recorded take is scored on pace, filler words, pauses and vocal variety, plus facial expression signals measured in your browser, with content and clarity feedback from the transcript. It has no simulated audience, no AI questions after your talk and no VR, where VirtualSpeech is clearly stronger. It is cheaper to start: a one-off five-session trial, then a monthly plan.
Orai →
Short daily drills on filler words, pace, clarity and energy for $49.99 a year or $12 a month. Far cheaper, much narrower.
Speeko →
Daily voice exercises from $8.33 a month billed annually, a free version, AI roleplay, and a Mac widget that nudges you during Zoom, Meet and Teams calls.
Yoodli →
Live AI roleplay with follow-up questions and analysis of real meeting recordings. Suited to individuals who mainly want an AI interviewer rather than a virtual room.
Microsoft Speaker Coach
Free inside PowerPoint (in free preview, no Office subscription needed on the web) with feedback on pacing, pitch, filler words and reading from slides. English only. No audience, but no cost.
VirtualSpeech review FAQ
Is VirtualSpeech worth paying for?
For organisations rolling out communication training, often yes: custom roleplays, analytics, LMS integration and optional VR are hard to find elsewhere in one product. For an individual it is worth $45 a month only if you specifically want a simulated audience and AI questions on your talk, and will use it for more than a few sessions. For quick delivery metrics or a single event, cheaper tools do the job.
How much does VirtualSpeech cost in 2026?
On virtualspeech.com on 11 October 2026, the individual plan was $45 a month or $399 a year, which VirtualSpeech says saves 30%. Enterprise and education pricing are custom quotes based on team size, cohort or campus, and are not published. Organisations typically start with a 1 to 2 week pilot. No free trial for individuals is published.
Do you need a VR headset for VirtualSpeech?
No. Everything runs in a browser on a laptop or tablet, and that is how most organisations start. VR is optional and supports Meta Quest, Pico, Vive and other compatible headsets. The headset adds body language and eye-contact scoring, a stronger sense of being in the room, mixed-reality sessions and multiplayer practice for up to six learners.
What does VirtualSpeech give feedback on?
Every roleplay or speech is scored against named criteria chosen for that scenario, such as composure, clarity and knowledge of the topic for an interview, each with a written explanation of what you said and what to change. Delivery measures include speaking pace, filler words and hesitations, and listenability. Sessions are recorded so you can watch yourself back, and you can debrief with an AI coach afterwards.
Is VirtualSpeech good for interview practice?
Yes. It has interview roleplays with AI avatars and a Job Interview Preparation course, scored on criteria such as clarity, composure and knowledge of the topic. Universities use it for employability and careers services. For an individual job seeker the price is the main drawback: $45 a month is more than most interview-specific tools, so check you will use it enough.
How does VirtualSpeech compare to EchoPitch?
VirtualSpeech is the broader rehearsal environment: a simulated audience, AI questions on your talk, roleplays, courses and optional VR, priced at $45 a month for individuals. EchoPitch is narrower: you record a full answer, pitch or presentation and get feedback on delivery, including facial expression measured in your browser without a headset, plus content and clarity from the transcript. EchoPitch costs less to start but has no audience simulation.
