Speeko Review 2026

Speeko is still operating and still sold in October 2026, on iOS, macOS, Android and the web. This review covers what each plan costs and includes, what it does well, where it falls short, and who should choose something else. It is written by a competitor, EchoPitch, so where Speeko is the better buy we say so.

Is Speeko worth paying for?

Speeko is worth paying for on the annual plan if you want short daily voice exercises and will actually do them. Annual billing works out at $8.33 a month, roughly $100 a year, and buys personalised feedback, real-time guidance and more than 1,000 premium exercises across iOS, macOS, Android and the web. The monthly plan is $29.99, about three and a half times as much, and that is the main trap. The free version keeps the core features forever, so test it before you subscribe. Speeko's distinctive extra is a Mac widget that nudges you during Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls, which few rivals offer. It is not worth paying for if you need one event rehearsed in depth, if you are on Windows and want the in-call widget, or if you expect a human coach to be included: live coaching is sold separately, starting with a $49.99 assessment.

Prices checked 11 October 2026 on speeko.co/subscriptions, speeko.co/coaching and speeko.co/business. Monthly, annual and lifetime billing are all available for individuals; the $8.33 figure is the annual plan shown as a monthly equivalent, and the annual total is not printed (12 × $8.33 is about $100). Business plans are billed annually only. Prices are shown in US dollars; local-currency pricing is not published.

What Speeko does well

  • Cheap on annual billing. $8.33 a month is one of the lowest prices for a scored speech coach, and the free version is genuinely usable rather than a time-limited demo.
  • A broad set of speech measures: pace, filler words (eloquence), intonation, sentiment, talk time and word choice, with pausing, articulation and inclusive language also listed on its AI information page.
  • Real-time nudges during actual meetings. The Mac feedback widget works with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and other meeting apps, which few rehearsal tools attempt.
  • Large exercise library: more than 1,000 premium exercises, vocal warm-ups, interview prompts, digital notecards and content from voice coach Roger Love.
  • AI roleplay for interviews, difficult conversations and presentations (Speeko calls it Convos), so practice is not only solo drills.
  • Clear refund terms on web and Google Play purchases: 14 days on monthly plans, 30 days on annual and lifetime. Audio is not used to improve its AI models by default on business accounts.

Where it falls short

  • Monthly billing is expensive. $29.99 a month is about three and a half times the annual rate, so the headline price depends on paying for a year.
  • The in-call widget is documented for Mac. Speeko's help page describes it as the Feedback Widget for Mac; a Windows version is not described.
  • The 7-day free trial is shown on the annual plan; the pricing page does not say whether it also applies to monthly or lifetime.
  • Human coaching is not included in Pro. The $49.99 assessment is a one-time introductory offer, and the price of ongoing coaching is not published.
  • App Store purchases are refunded by Apple, not Speeko, so the money-back guarantee does not apply to them.
  • Business seats cannot be reduced mid-term, there is no business trial, and invoicing and purchase orders are not supported.

Who should pay for Speeko

People building a daily speaking habit

Short, personalised exercises a few minutes a day are what Speeko is designed around. Use the free version for a week, then take the annual plan if you are still opening it.

Mac users who want help in real meetings

The Feedback Widget for Mac nudges you during Zoom, Google Meet and Teams calls. If your problem is Tuesday's stand-up rather than next month's keynote, this is the feature that justifies paying.

People who want a human coach as well as an app

Speeko is one of the few apps that also sells human coaching. The $49.99 assessment is a low-cost way to get an expert opinion and a plan, and Pro can then be the practice space between sessions.

Households and gift buyers

The family plan covers up to six people for a year at $249.99 on sale, and a one-year gift is $99.99.

Who should choose something else

You have one high-stakes event coming

Speeko is built for small daily improvements. If you need a full presentation, pitch or interview answer analysed this week, a tool built around recording and scoring complete takes fits better than a month of exercises at $29.99.

You are on Windows and want live meeting nudges

Speeko documents the in-call widget for Mac only. Check before paying if this is the reason you are buying.

You want to be questioned on your content

For practice answering hard follow-up questions, tools built around a simulated audience or an AI interviewer, such as VirtualSpeech or Yoodli, go further than vocal exercises.

You only want a cheap daily drill

Orai does the same job for $49.99 a year or $12 a month, and sells a $149 lifetime licence against Speeko's $299.99.

Speeko alternatives

Which tool replaces Speeko depends on why you are looking. EchoPitch is listed first because this is our site, not because it suits every case.

EchoPitch (us)

Best when one specific presentation, pitch, interview or difficult conversation matters. Each recorded take is scored on pace, filler words, pauses and vocal variety, plus facial expression signals measured in your browser, with content and clarity feedback from the transcript. It has no in-call widget and no ongoing free plan, and costs more per month than Speeko annual. Speeko is better for a cheap daily habit and live meeting nudges.

Orai →

The cheapest like-for-like swap: short daily drills on filler words, pace, clarity and energy for $49.99 a year, or $12 a month, plus a $149 lifetime option.

VirtualSpeech →

Present your own slides to a simulated audience and answer AI questions drawn from what you said. $45 a month or $399 a year, and built mainly for organisations.

Yoodli →

Live AI roleplay with follow-up questions and analysis of uploaded meeting recordings. Stronger for interview rehearsal than vocal exercises.

Microsoft Speaker Coach

Free inside PowerPoint (in free preview, no Office subscription needed on the web) with feedback on pacing, pitch, filler words and reading from slides. English only. Enough if you only rehearse slide decks.

Speeko review FAQ

Is Speeko worth paying for?

Yes, on the annual plan, if you want a few minutes of voice exercises a day and will keep them up. At $8.33 a month billed annually it is cheaper than almost any other scored speech coach. The monthly plan at $29.99 is poor value unless you only need a month. Start with the free version, which keeps the core features with no time limit, and upgrade only once you are using it daily.

How much does Speeko cost in 2026?

On speeko.co on 11 October 2026, Speeko Pro was $29.99 a month on monthly billing, $8.33 a month on annual billing, or $299.99 for lifetime access. A one-year gift subscription was $99.99 and a one-year family plan for up to six people was $249.99 on sale. Live coaching starts with a $49.99 assessment. Business pricing is per seat and not published.

Is Speeko free?

Partly. Speeko says its core features are free forever and that you do not need an account to use them; the free tier gives basic insights. Personalised feedback, real-time guidance and the 1,000-plus premium exercises need Pro. The pricing page also shows a 7-day free trial of Pro on the annual plan, so you can test the paid features before the first charge.

Does Speeko work during Zoom or Teams calls?

Yes, on a Mac. Speeko's help centre describes a Feedback Widget for Mac that gives real-time nudges during Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and other virtual meetings. It does not describe a Windows version. Speeko also notes that meeting reports can be less accurate when other people are speaking, because it is analysing the audio it hears.

Can I get a refund from Speeko?

If you bought on the Speeko website or Google Play, monthly plans have a 14-day money-back guarantee and annual or lifetime plans have 30 days; you request it by live chat or email. If you bought through the Apple App Store, Apple handles refunds and Speeko cannot offer its guarantee. Subscriptions renew automatically, so cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

How does Speeko compare to EchoPitch?

Speeko is cheaper and built for a daily habit, with live nudges in meetings on a Mac. EchoPitch is built for one event that matters: you record a full answer, pitch or presentation and get feedback on delivery signals, including facial expression measured in your browser, plus content and clarity from the transcript. EchoPitch has no annual plan, no in-call widget and no ongoing free plan beyond the Pitch Scorer.
