Yoodli vs Orai 2026

Yoodli and Orai are the two names that come up first for AI speaking practice, and they are built for different jobs. This comparison covers what each costs, what each measures and who should pick which. It is written by a competitor, EchoPitch, so where either is the better buy we say so.

Yoodli or Orai: which is better?

Yoodli is better if you need to practise thinking on your feet, and Orai is better if you want a cheap daily habit for filler words and pace. Yoodli runs live AI roleplays that respond to what you say, and it can give feedback on a recording you upload. Orai scores delivery mechanics only, namely filler words, pace, clarity and energy, in short drills on iOS, Android and the web. On price, Orai Pro costs $49.99 a year or $12 month to month, while Yoodli Pro is $8 a month on annual billing and its free Starter plan stops after 5 lifetime sessions. Neither is built around one specific event. If you have a single interview, pitch or presentation coming, a scored full run-through of the whole thing is a different tool from either, and it is worth trying one before you commit to an annual plan.

Yoodli vs Orai: the differences that matter

What you practise against

Yoodli puts you in a live roleplay with an AI that replies and asks follow-up questions, so you practise answering under pressure. Orai gives you a scenario prompt and you answer alone; its site does not describe an AI that pushes back. If your problem is freezing on the second question, that difference decides it.

What each one scores

Orai Pro gives real-time feedback on filler words, pace, clarity and energy, with coaching tips after every session and trend charts over time. Yoodli's pricing page describes live roleplays and feedback on uploaded recordings, and its FAQ mentions filler-word counting; it does not publish a list of delivery metrics the way Orai does. Neither site describes facial expression feedback on its standard paid plan.

How the money works

Orai is the cheaper habit: $49.99 a year, $149 once for lifetime, or $12 a month, with a 7-day trial that needs a card. Yoodli's Pro price of $8 a month is shown for annual billing, so the real commitment is a year up front, and its pricing page says it does not offer refunds on cancellation. Yoodli Pro caps you at 10 roleplays a week; Advanced at $20 a month on annual billing is unlimited.

Privacy and data

Yoodli says Starter and Pro data may be used to improve its platform, and that excluding your data from AI training is an Advanced feature. Orai's Trust Center states its no-training policy for enterprise content only and does not say what applies to individual users. If you are practising a sensitive pitch, check both policies before you record.

Where each runs

Orai has iOS, Android and web apps. Yoodli's pricing and FAQ pages we checked do not list platforms, so confirm that it works where you practise before paying.

Which one to choose

Choose Orai if →

you say "um" and "like" too often, you will practise most days for a few minutes, and you will pay annually. It is among the cheapest scored speech coaches still on sale.

Choose Yoodli if →

you are preparing for conversations that push back, such as interviews, sales calls or Q&A, and you want the AI to react to what you actually said.

Choose neither if →

you have one dated event, such as a board presentation, an investor pitch or a final-round interview, and you need to know how a full run-through sounded. EchoPitch scores a recorded take on pace, filler words, pauses and vocal variety, plus facial expression signals measured in your browser. It costs more than Orai and has no ongoing free plan, so for a cheap daily habit Orai is the better buy.

Frequently asked questions

Is Yoodli better than Orai?

For practising conversations that respond to you, yes. Yoodli runs live AI roleplays with follow-up questions, while Orai gives you prompts you answer alone and scores filler words, pace, clarity and energy. For a cheap daily habit on a phone, Orai is the better buy at $49.99 a year.

Which is cheaper, Yoodli or Orai?

Orai. On 7 November 2026, Orai Pro was $49.99 a year ($12 month to month) and Yoodli Pro was $8 a month on annual billing, about $96 a year. Orai's $149 lifetime licence beats three years of either subscription. Yoodli has a free Starter plan limited to 5 lifetime sessions; Orai has a 7-day trial that needs a card.

Does Yoodli or Orai have a free plan?

Yoodli's Starter plan is free but limited to 5 lifetime sessions. Orai lists only a 7-day free trial of Pro, and a card is required to start it. Neither is a free ongoing plan for regular practice.

Can Orai do roleplay like Yoodli?

Not according to its site. Orai describes scenarios you answer on your own with delivery feedback, and does not describe a live AI that replies or asks follow-up questions. Yoodli's roleplay is its core feature.

Which is better for interviews, Yoodli or Orai?

Yoodli, because interviews involve follow-up questions and Orai does not simulate them. Neither is an interview-question bank. If you want a large question library with video feedback, see the Big Interview and Huru comparisons linked below.

Is there an alternative to both?

Yes. EchoPitch is built for one event that matters: you record a full run-through and get feedback on pace, filler words, pauses, vocal variety and facial expression signals, plus content and clarity feedback from the transcript. It is a one-off ten-session trial then a monthly plan, with no annual commitment.
